Grand Opening for River Trail
Platte County and Riverside officials announced Thursday the grand opening date of the much anticipated first segment of the Missouri Riverfront Trail. Officials will be on hand for the ceremonial ribbon cutting Friday, August 29th, at 11:00 AM. The grand opening, a public event, will take place at the West Trailhead located off of 9 Hwy in Riverside, just west of Intercon Drive.
The first segment of the trail opening next Friday includes approximately 3.5 miles on top of the new Quindaro Bend Levee in Riverside. The trail begins at the levee near the Argosy Casino and continues west to Burlington Creek and the west trailhead. Future segments of the trail will connect the bicycle and pedestrian path further west to English Landing Park and further east along Line Creek to Vivion Road.
