Shortly before 11am on July 14, 2012, a Platte County Sheriff’s Deputy located the vehicle that was missing from the Perry Street address on 200th Street just inside of Clay County. There were no visible signs of foul play in or on the vehicle. The vehicle was towed so the Kansas City Police Crime Lab could further process the vehicle.
A search of the area where the truck was found was conducted utilizing resources and personnel from a number of local law enforcement agencies. The search of the area did not produce any additional evidence or information. At this time Britny Haarup and Ashley Key are still missing and the Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into this matter.
The Platte County Sheriff’s Office appreciates the efforts of the following agencies that assisted in the search operations today: The Clay County Sheriff’s Office, The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, the Kansas City Police Department, the Clay County Park Rangers, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and agents of the Missouri Department of Conservation.
