From the Missouri Department of Transportation:
The Missouri Department of Transportation continues safety improvements and widening along Route 45
between Routes 9 and K in Parkville. Crews have finished Phase One of Four, and nearing a halfway mark for finishing construction of the new eastbound lanes of Route 45.
As construction continues this year, motorists should expect delays and temporary closures on streets accessing Route 45 while the intersections are rebuilt. N.W. Hogan Drive is scheduled to close at Route 45 on Tuesday, Feb. 21 through March 13 to allow crews to construct the new entrance. Motorists are advised to use South Crooked Road to bypass this temporary closure.
Despite utility relocation delays early in the project, the aggressive schedule is on track for an early 2013 completion. Currently, crews are finishing drainage, grading and concrete paving to complete the new lanes for eastbound Route 45 and started construction for westbound lanes.
The phases include:
• Phase One, 100% Complete - Temporary pavement construction on westbound lane of Route 45. This work includes grading, temporary asphalt pavement, culvert extensions, demolition work, temporary signals, etc.
• Phase Two, 30% Complete - Construct new eastbound lanes of Route 45. The work includes grading, concrete pavement, storm drainage, curb & gutter, lighting, shared use path, traffic signals, guardrail and Mechanically Stabilized Earth (MSE) walls.
• Phase Three, 10% Complete - Includes construction of the new westbound lanes of Route 45. The work includes grading, concrete pavement, storm drainage, curb & gutter, MSE Walls, median, etc.
• Phase Four - Median work and clean up.
